Josh Smith
Pastor/Elder
It is an honor to serve God in my hometown of Nevada, Missouri. I was called to Community Christian Church in August of 2018. I am a bi-vocational pastor and also a Special Education teacher at Nevada Middle School and a middle school football coach and varsity girls wrestling coach in the Nevada R-V School District. God has blessed me with a beautiful wife, Melody. We have been married for just over 25 years. We have two wonderful sons — Trenton, who lives and works in Pittsburg, Kansas, and Logan, who is a math teacher at Nevada Middle School and a varsity football and girls wrestling coach. We are also blessed with our daughter-in-law Claire, Logan's wife, who is a 2nd grade teacher at Weber Elementary and a varsity softball and middle school girls wrestling coach.
I look forward to meeting you and serving you as we serve God together! See you Sunday!

Kenny Butterfield
Elder
Pastor Josh asked the elders to write a little bit about ourselves. My name is Kenny Butterfield. I am married to Becky for the past 34 years. She had 2 sons, Josh and Jeff and I have one daughter Chris. Josh and Jeff live and work in Nevada. Chris lives in a suburb of Wichita, Ks. called Derby and works in an air plane refurbishing plant. Becky and I are retired for 15 and 13 years. We like antique shops and garage sales. One of the most fun things that I love to do is plant trees and flowers, I am not really good at it but I love it.
When I was called to be an elder at CCC I was humbled and afraid that I wouldn't live up to God's ministry that He had for me. My prayer is that I will be the best elder God can make of me. Serving and leading the people I have grown to love and respect. God is among us we just have to know and pray for His guidance.
